Yachtshare P/L has now commissioned its second new 40 foot yacht, as a result of its success at the 2007 Brisbane International Boat Show.
Based at Manly Harbour, Brisbane, the two Yachtshare managed 40 footers are fully serviced and maintained for their owners, and are fitted out with accessories that allow owners the luxury of a “walk on walk off” service.
Yachtshare attributes its success to the fact that its owners retain equity in their yacht, share in the sale proceeds when the boat is sold, and have confidence in the management team who run the company and service the boats.
Yachtshare’s experienced management team were pioneers in the syndicated ownership industry, establishing their first and successful company, Boatshare, in 1999. With 30 syndicated vessels to their credit they pride themselves on their experience, service ethic and professionalism.
Equitable use and access to the boat has always been a feature of the Yachtshare program, with owners now having the flexibility to view an online calendar and nominate the days that they wish to use their boat. Prime time periods throughout the year, such as Easter and Christmas, have booking rules to ensure that owners have fair access to their boat during these prime times.
A genuine pride of ownership and duty of care exists between the Yachtshare owners because they really do own the boat unlike a hire boat where there is little or no respect for the care of the boat.
Owners share the running costs of the boat and also enjoy access to an exclusive international travel company, access to social functions and yachting events throughout the year as well as on water assistance 24/7.
Yachtshare is about to undergo a major expansion venturing into interstate waters with an exciting plan incorporating larger yachts spending approximately 6 months in the Whitsunday’s and 4 to 5 months at their home cruising grounds.
Owners in these vessels will have the opportunity to do some coastal sailing with a professional skipper, as the boats move between their home ports and the Whitsundays.
The program allows for 10 owners to each own an equity share in the yacht with each having a minimum allocation of 2.5 weeks aboard in the Whitsundays, and 1.5 weeks aboard on the boat in their home port. Owners also have the option of doing some coastal sailing on the relocation runs between the Whitsundays and home waters twice a year, while under the care of a professional skipper. These relocation runs do not encroach on any owners normal time allocations.
Maintenance, cleaning, servicing, berthing, and insurance and other all known expenses are administered by Yachtshare and are amortized between the owners. Yachtshare can provide many other services such as catering, skipper hire and administers all operational aspects running the boat on behalf of the owners, so that owners can simply relax and enjoy their luxury yacht.
Access to the boat is arranged by the owners themselves, via a user friendly online calendar. Owners simply go to their web site and “sign on”. This allows owners access to their calendar and they tick the days that they want to reserve their yacht. It really is that simple. Yachtshare ensures that access to prime time access is shared equitably.
Yachtshare management’s proven track record, philosophy and business ethic is to provide its owners with the highest level of professional, personalized valet service, free of hassle and worry and with a genuine walk on walk off service.
Because owners retain the equity in their boat, they each share in the sale proceeds when the yacht is sold or they can always sell their share before the syndicate term expires at 3 years.
